- Unreserved Category: 81 posts (28 reserved for women)
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 32 posts (11 reserved for women)

BPSC Block Horticulture Officer Recruitment Eligibility 2024
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture Science (B.Sc. Horti.) or Agriculture Science (B.Sc. Ag.) from a recognized Agriculture University/Institute.
Age Limit:
- Minimum age: 21 years as of August 1, 2023.
- Maximum age:
- Unreserved (Male): 37 years
- Backward Class/EBC (Male & Female): 40 years
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (Male & Female): 42 years
- Ex-servicemen: Up to 60 years, with relaxation based on years of service rendered to the Bihar government or government institutions.
Age Relaxation: Candidates under contractual government service can claim a maximum age relaxation corresponding to the years of service rendered, not exceeding 60 years as of August 1, 2023.
Pay Scale: Pay matrix level 4, with a salary ranging from 25500 to 81100 INR.

BPSC BHO Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
The selection process will be in two steps – a written examination and an interview. The written exam covers three subjects: General Hindi, General Knowledge, and Horticulture/Agriculture Science, each subject carrying 100 marks, summing up to 400 marks in total. Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 30 marks in the General Hindi section. After the written test, there will be a 50-mark interview. The cutoff marks for the written examination and interview is at 75% and 25%, respectively. Moreover, an additional 25% weightage will be allotted to candidates with contractual work experience.
